Who is responsible

The app

• Local processing. Capturing, editing, text recognition (using Apple's on-device macOS Vision framework) and auto-redaction all happen on your Mac. Your images, screenshots and .snipaya files stay on your computer.
• No telemetry. The app does not send usage analytics, crash reports or tracking data to us.
• Uploads only when you ask. An image leaves your Mac only when you explicitly export it to an upload destination that you configured yourself, such as a public image host, a custom uploader, an issue tracker or a wiki. That data goes directly to the service you chose and is governed by its privacy policy. We do not receive a copy.
• Settings and credentials. Destination settings and any credentials you enter are stored locally on your Mac.
• AI control over MCP. This feature is off by default. When you enable it, a server listens only on your Mac and requires an access token. Any AI assistant you connect is run by a third party, and what you share with it is governed by that provider's privacy policy.
• Updates. To check for and download new versions, the app contacts the server that hosts its releases. Like any web request, this exposes your IP address and basic request information to that host.

Purchases

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy as merchant of record. Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment details, billing address and email to complete the order, issue receipts and meet tax obligations. We never see your full card details. As the seller we receive order information from Lemon Squeezy, such as your name, email, country and order details, which we use to deliver your license, provide support and handle refunds. This website

This website has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising and no cookies set by us. It loads no third-party fonts or scripts. The hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and operations.

Email

If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply and help you. We keep support emails as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Use the contact form or email support@snipaya.app and we will respond. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Snipaya is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
